Watercolored Bugs World

Lately I have been focused on tangling, using watercolors for the backgrounds. I decided it was time to get over my fear and use them for more then an awesome background. Me being the impatient person I am, I dove right in. It’s do or die time and I am happy to say, my little painting didn’t die.

I grabbed my new watercolor journal and sketched out my little garden last night, and dove right in this evening after my wonderful hubby left for work. I took a couple of breaks, one of course to feed my 2 crazy kids, it took about 2-3 hours to finish. This was painted in watercolors, outlined with Microns and the little bit of white was done with Uni-ball broad white pen. I still haven’t done anything with my lighting issue so this picture does not do it justice.

I am very happy with the way this came out. I was going for cute and I am pretty sure I got that. I can honestly say if my daughter was about 5 years younger I would defiantly paint something like this in her room. Once we move (hopefully soon) she is trying to get me to paint her wall with flowers. Who knows she may get her wish, but after 8 months of waiting on this house we may pass up the painting just so we can get in the house. Try living in a house with two children staying in the same room and arguing almost everyday for the last 6 months, its enough to drive any parent crazy. I can’t blame them though, two completely different personalities forced to share space and not having their own personal space is tough. So keep your fingers crossed that the bank can get this shit moving so this momma doesn’t loose her @#*% mind. We are hoping by the middle or end of September (it better be).
